I love John McCain ...

Click here: Sen. McCain Says Iraq Stance Could End His Career

But he know better than this ... it is not very often that an American running for President gets hurt at the polls for supporting our troops and promoting the views an values of America.

Response: The Republicans wouldn't have lost both houses of congress (by admittedly small margins) if what you say is true. Iraq is a tarbaby, a hot potato, radioactive, whatever you want to call it -- Americans may not be ready to pull the plug on our troops over there, but they're definitely not happy with the way President Bush has handled the war, and McCain has every reason to be nervous that his current stance could cost him the presidency.

If the election for President were held today, Bush would lose and lose big. Iraq is the chief reason why. To ignore this is folly.

Dear A

It is a political rule --- as close as there can be to political rules --- that in the sixth year of a two term Presidency the party in power loses a substantial number of seats.

I stand by my post.
